KGCT Partners With CGI Insurance To provide Medical Treatment
Continuing its mission to assist those grappling with unfortunate circumstances, the Kevin Greenidge Charitable Trust (KGCT) will be providing medical treatment for some Barbadians, working in partnership with CGI Insurance. This support will enable the recipients to receive a much-needed MRI and other services to help in diagnosing potentially serious medical conditions.
Though the charity was established to primarily help disadvantaged young people, a decision was taken to act in this situation where swift action was called for. Thus, having been approached, the KGCT trustees agreed to widen its mandate and act, feeling that cases of genuine need should not be categorically dismissed but evaluated on their own merit.
Barbados’ ranking of 63 on the UNDP Human Development Index places it in the “Very High Human Development” category, but there are still pockets of poverty in the country and too many instances where young people with great potential are disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control. It is against this backdrop that the KGCT was established in 2023, and to-date, has helped more than ten individuals to have a brighter future.
Donors interested in supporting the charity’s work are welcomed and can rest assured that a thorough review of each request for assistance is conducted before funding is released. You can find more information on the charity, its projects, and recipients at www.kgctbarbados.org.
