Mr. Erskine K. Hinds

Erskine K. Hinds, an esteemed graduate holding a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Education from the University of the West Indies, Cavehill, is a versatile professional with expertise spanning Web Development, Design, and Library and Information Management.

In January 2012, Erskine showcased his proficiency by crafting the website for the St. Leonard’s Girls’ Alumni Association, utilising the sophisticated Joomla content management system. This marked the initiation of his journey into crafting impactful digital experiences.

Expanding his horizons, Erskine assumed the role of a designer and migration expert for the Barbados Alzheimer’s Association from September 2013 to March 2015. During this period, he seamlessly migrated the association’s website from WordPress to the Joomla Content Management System, demonstrating not only technical prowess but also adaptability across diverse platforms.

Erskine’s commitment to innovation persisted with the development of the Creative Tutoring Management System (CTMS) from September 2015 to November 2015. As a pivotal member of the project team, he played the role of a developer, implementing crucial code in PHP and MySQL for the web application. CTMS, a second-year project integral to his BSc in Information Technology, served as a ground-breaking networking database connecting tutors and students, streamlining session scheduling and progress tracking.

From October 2018 to October 2019, Erskine played a pivotal role in enhancing the online presence of the Barbados Tennis Association. Spearheading the creation of an upgraded website, he tackled intricate tasks such as database backup and migration to a new structure. Beyond his technical responsibilities, Erskine provided valuable training to association members, ensuring a seamless transition to the new features while actively participating in content updates.

In addition to his academic achievements and practical applications, Erskine is a CompTIA A+ and Network+ Professional, bringing over two decades of experience in the information technology profession. His journey reflects an unwavering commitment to elevating digital experiences through innovative web development and design, coupled with his proficiency in Library and Information Management. His diverse projects and contributions underscore a professional dedicated to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical solutions in the ever-evolving landscape of technology.
